Michigan's Great Southwest Sustainable Business Forum (MGSSBF) 

MGSSBF educates, engages and empowers our community to more equally value environmental stewardship, social responsibility and economic growth.

The Triple Bottom Line
is the term that Sustainable Businesses use to measure and stay balanced between three areas:

1.  Environment:  Air Quality, Water Quality, Energy Usage, Waste Produced, etc.
2.  Social:  Labor practices, Community Impacts, Human Rights, Product Responsibility, etc.
3.  Economic:  Sales, Profits, Return on Investment, Cash Flow, Jobs Created, etc.


MGSSBF is a 501(c) 3 organization and happily and gratefully accepts donations in support of our sustainability and education efforts. Contributions may be mailed to MGSSBF, PO Box 513, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Michigan's Great Southwest Sustainable Business Forum will host a program and tour of Whirlpool's new Benton Harbor Refrigeration Technology Center on Friday, May 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Part of an $155 million investment in the Benton Harbor area, the new facility opened a year ago in a state of the art building re-purposed from a plant used to build boats during World War II. It is Whirlpools largest refrigeration technology center and among the world's largest, featuring research facilities and a testing ground for product performance. 


Representatives will discuss the company's exciting new investment in Benton Harbor and the building's innovative technology and sustainability features.
